So, there were many things that I did not get in my childhood and when I used to sit and do my homework, I used to think about the lack of beauty in my mind. Or because of the lack of space, I was busy finding beauty. That’s why we were all clinging to each other.

In an interview given to Simi Garewal in 2002, Sanjay and his mother had revealed that they used to collect sarees from a nearby shop and stitch them. The film maker had told, “We used to bring sarees from the shop in the evening and used to sit till night and apply the fall. He had said, “Sometimes we used to get 4 sarees, sometimes we used to get 12 sarees, sometimes we used to get 24 sarees, so this is the same.” It was, we had to face it.”

Let us tell you that later Sanjay Leela Bhansali started his career as an assistant director under Vidhu Vinod Chopra and later made his Bollywood debut as a director with Khamoshi: The Musical. Salman Khan acted in this film and it was a blockbuster. Sanjay got recognition in the industry from this film. After this he made Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan and it was not only a hit but the film also won the National Award.

In his career, Sanjay Leela Bhansali gave four films that grossed more than Rs 200 crore.
